The Hurricanes’ climb toward the Associated Press poll’s top 10 hit a speed bump this week.

Miami (13-2, 4-1 ACC) dropped from No. 12 to No. 16 in this week’s poll following their 76-70 road loss to Georgia Tech on Wednesday. The loss to the Yellow Jackets ended a nine-game winning streak.

The Hurricanes struggled on offense in their loss to the Yellow Jackets, shooting just 35.3 percent from the field — 12 points lower than their season average.

“Very simply, if you don’t shoot the ball well, you’re not going to score much,” Miami coach Jim Larrañaga said.
