The Hurricanes have dropped two of their last three games, and that has cost them in the rankings.

Miami (14-3, 5-2 ACC) fell one spot to No. 17 in this week’s Associated Press poll following their overtime road loss to North Carolina State on Saturday.

The Hurricanes have gone 1-2 after New Year’s Day, dropping road games to Georgia Tech and NC State. Sandwiched between the defeats is a home win against Boston College.

The Hurricanes are one of three ACC teams ranked in the poll this week, joining No. 10 Virginia and No. 19 Clemson.
